HUNT IN SOUTH AFRICA

The Utmost Experience from SABLE SAFARI

South Africa is the country that inspired the birth of SABLE SAFARI more than a decade ago. From the Limpopo to the Western Cape, from the Northern Cape to Kwazulu Natal passing through the North West, the Orange Free State or still the Eastern Cape, we have over time prospected hundreds of territories and have selected the most rigorous of them.
We now have more than enough to offer you and are able to meet all your demands. For obvious reasons, they would need to meet the ethics we have set for ourselves.

From the Kalahari Desert to the Indian Ocean

A wide variety of habitat make up the South African landscape. Among these, the legendary Kalahari desert stands out as an idealised picture. In fact, the spirit of the hunter dreaming of Africa is haunted by lines of oryx or eland walking single file on the rolling red sand. But while it is perfectly possible to live this experience, know that the South African land also has many other aspects.
With mountains more or less prominent, wide elevated plains, huge grassy plains, thick bush, spiny forests, cultivated land, lakes, rivers, fine sandy beaches, the Indian Ocean and South Atlantic Ocean, all these landscapes are intertwined in a gigantic patchwork from which our hunters and fishermen will find an exceeding number of tours.

From Francolin to Elephant

Not a state in the world has a display of game as varied as in the RSA. In our brochure, we propose small, medium and large game. Whatever it is, gunshots on columbidae (pigeons and doves) or hunting parties for francolin and guinea fowl with retrieving dogs or incredible flights of waterfowl at the edge of a body of water, collectors of all type of furred mammals, looking for big and rare trophies, we have without a doubt the right product on one or other of our territories.
Our strength is to work with a network of conscientious and exclusive partners everywhere and at all times in order to put together trips to your own liking. Gun hunters, bow hunters, avid walkers or lovers of the bush, put forward your request and we will respond to it in every detail.

From Tiger Fish to Marlin

Although not very well known for its big game fishing, South Africa has real treasures. In particular, in Natal, along the coast of the Indian Ocean, on the border of Mozambique, we have listed two high priorities for fishing, the famous «Tiger Fish» and just as exciting the Marlin (striped, blue and black), not forgetting tunas, whaoo, barracuda and swordfish (among others). We are also extremely privileged to benefit from the services of a guide with an exceptional experience.
In the fishing world, his nickname is "The Legend”. This out-of-the-ordinary fisherman holds many records for Marlin. Fishing with him is an absolute pleasure. All these fishing opportunities can be taken as an extension to a hunting trip or organised in a resort of its own. Finally, keep in mind that our spots are in the “Top 10” worldwide for the three different species of Marlin mentioned.

Accommodation

Generally all our accommodation offers excellent comfort. They range from the very typical South African canvas tent on stilts, with all amenities, to the 5-star lodge or the more stereotype rooms. All these sites are equipped with good linen, air conditioning, individual bathrooms and sometimes even a swimming pool.

Cuisine

Strictly speaking, South Africa is not a well known nation in terms of gastronomy. However, one will find all kinds of meat, fish, fruit and fresh vegetables and you can be sure to be satisfied. Tables are usually laid generously. They sometimes just lack some life, no doubt because of the culture. On the other hand, we find wonderful wines which today leave nothing to be desired compared to our French production.

Transport

Our visitors are assured to be welcomed on their arrival at Johannesburg International Airport. From there, depending on where your destination is, you have between 2 and 7 hours drive in reliable vehicles to reach one or other of our destinations. Internal flights, private or domestic, may also be considered, in some cases this helps to get as close as possible to your destination.

Information

Generations of bush lovers started hunting on the African continent through South Africa before becoming professional hunters. We must recognise that this vast country has many assets to attract. This begins with the density and diversity of the game. Managers of South African territories have become masters in protecting the livestock and making it fruitful. We also owe to them the protection of iconic species, such as the rhino. The second strength of the RSA remains the quality of the hospitality and the know-how of the guides.
The team set up by Sable Safari is impeccable and enjoys an international reputation. Thirdly, we must mention the beauty of the landscapes and the vast range of tourist attractions other than hunting. These “little extras” make it easy to consider travelling as a family. Finally, we cannot conclude this paragraph without mentioning the financial aspect of such a trip. In this regard, the visitor is in complete control of his budget. Anywhere and at all times, fully aware, it is the visitor’s decision to track an animal with a high value or rather to look for a more modest trophy that will nevertheless leave him with excellent memories.
