CONSERVATION & LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

Our actions

2006, we have had the opportunity to see many things around the world through our travels.
Not all parts of the world are an Eldorado, often we operate our hunting activities in the wildest and most remote parts of the world, and there, we have witnessed very sad and blatant observations, both from a human and environmental point of view.
Obviously, we cannot completely stop famine, disease, deforestation, the deterioration of threatened and fragile ecosystems, poaching, etc…. However, it is not forbidden to participate and contribute, even on a small scale. A new division in our agency was created where we get involved in certain projects.
We feel it is better to take action with a little than do nothing at all!

As a tour operator, we chose this trade because of our love for hunting, for wildlife, but also for people and areas of unspoiled nature.
And you who travel, have chosen to explore part of the world for the same reasons. Together, let us try to take part as actively as possible in the conservation of wild fauna and flora, of habitats and to contribute to local economic and social development of some countries. Our actions often correspond to needs expressed by local people, on a one-off or long-term basis.
Our financial participation is usually sent to local private partners, but also sometimes to local associations or municipalities overseeing the project. Exceptionally, it can also be done directly to the local population.

SABLE SAFARI help in the financing of certain initiatives through private contributors or companies. Our main initiatives, amongst others, are:
• Improving access to drinking water
• Improving living conditions
• Increasing population awareness to diseases
• Improving schooling conditions
• Raising awareness to “light” poachers to capture intelligently
• Fighting against “heavy” poaching that supplies business to the detriment of the endangered species. More particularly African elephants, white and black rhino*
• Protection and maintenance of the habitat

Poaching is the fourth most lucrative illegal activity on the planet. A real global industry that attracts about $20 billion, just behind drug trafficking, counterfeiting and human trafficking. As a matter of fact, much of this illegal activity is incalculable and therefore difficult to quantify.

Fighting poaching and illegal trade is critical if we want to ensure the protection of the endangered wildlife. According to a reliable agency, between 500 and 600 million tropical fish, 15 million furred animals, 5 million birds, 2 million reptiles and 30,000 primates are exposed to poaching every year, without counting rhinos, elephants, great apes and pangolins which are at the top of the list in the market. We look forward to your support and participation towards a better world!
